Tori Woodrow, Violin
Tori Woodrow’s sensitive and expressive playing has taken her throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Tori has toured France, Switzerland, and the UK three times, performing under the baton of Richard Giangiulio. She has also toured China with the Manhattan Symphonie Orchestra, playing in concert halls from Guangzhou to Shanghai.
Tori has performed extensively with orchestras across the United States as well. She has served as Principal First Violin of the Fort Collins Symphony, as Assistant Concertmaster of the Emerald City Opera, and as Assistant Principal Second Violin of the Cheyenne Symphony. She has performed with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra, the Carolina Ballet, and the Colorado Music Festival. She has appeared as a soloist with the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra, and is currently a member of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic.
Tori has also worked as a recording artist, playing on the movie soundtrack of Spy Kids 2, and making a nationally broadcast commercial with Robert Goulet. Her playing was featured on the recent full-length album “Range Songs” by singer-songwriter Mickey Theis. In addition to performing, Tori enjoys an active career as a music educator. She has held faculty positions with Boulder Suzuki Strings in Boulder, Colorado; St. Stephen’s Episcopal School in Austin, Texas; and the Cary School of Music in Cary, North Carolina. She currently has a thriving private studio in Centennial, Colorado.
Tori earned her Masters’ Degree in Violin Performance from the University of Texas at Austin. She holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts from the same University, where she was a National Merit Finalist and was awarded a full academic scholarship. She graduated With Highest Honors as a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
