Linda Kidd, Piano/Organ
Linda Mizelle Kidd is an accomplished piano and organ solo performer and ensemble accompanist with an emphasis in ensemble accompany. She began her music studies at 5 years of age and performing as an accompanist in 1970. She has maintained an active piano studio since 1976. During her high school years she began studying piano at the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now ULL). Ms. Kidd achieved her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Louisiana State University (LSU) and her Master of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Southwestern University. She holds a permanent professional certification with both the Louisiana Music Teachers Association and Music Teacher’s National Association. Her students have received district and state honors. One student has continued studies receiving international honors.
Linda Kidd has performed both locally and internationally. Among her many professional accomplishments she toured throughout Europe as the accompanist for the All Student USA Chorus and recently performed as part of an ensemble in Shanghai, China.
She provides music upon requests at various social events, church services and special music events at the Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist, Saint Genevieve Catholic Church, Saint Pius X Catholic Church, Asbury Methodist Church, First Baptist Church, Church of the Assumption, and First United Methodist Church among others.
As an accompanist she has performed with many District Honor Choirs at Nichols University; Tuneweavers, the Morgan City Community Choral Group; USL Chorus; numerous musical theater performances including IPAL, Abbey Players; The Franklin Little Theater; and, countless other local school performances. She has accompanied the Acadiana Symphony Chorus and many ULL student recitals.
