Lauren Baker, ACOUSTIC Violin
Since 1981, from solo violin to chamber orchestra and any size ensemble in-between, Lauren Baker has provided elegant music in Acadiana and surrounding areas for every occasion and budget. She is committed to achieving each client's unique style, from pops to standards to classical. Her qualifications, and those of the musicians she hires, are of the highest professional standards. She is a well-known performer in the area. Lauren is currently concertmaster of the orchestras of Acadiana Symphony, Chorale Acadienne, and Asbury Methodist Church, all positions she has held for many years. In addition to providing musicians for special events, Lauren also plays and provides strings or chamber orchestras (which include woodwinds and brass) for area churches and organizations including Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, St. Pius X Catholic Church, First Baptist Church, Asbury Methodist Church and Chorale Acadienne. Lauren has maintained a violin studio in Lafayette since 1986. Members of her studio range in age from 4 to adult and have performed many times with the ASO. Her students have enjoyed master classes with many guest artists and have been accepted to some of the country's leading summer programs and conservatories. She has been on the faculties of summer string Suzuki camps in New York, Connecticut, Utah and California. She is the founder and director of the Acadiana Suzuki Strings Institute.
