Emma Guidry, acoustic Cello and Cello with Electronic Backing Tracks
Emma Guidry, a Wyoming native, embarked on her musical journey at the age of five. Under the guidance of esteemed mentors Barbara Thiem and Dennis Parker, Emma cultivated her passion for the cello. She earned her bachelor’s degree in cello performance from Louisiana State University, graduating as a University Medalist with summa cum laude honors.
A versatile cellist, Emma is known for her dynamic performances both as a soloist and within renowned ensembles. She is a founding member of Vermilion Strings in Acadiana, a cornerstone in the Parnassus String Quartet in the Rocky Mountain region, and a founding member of the Bayou String Quartet in southern Louisiana.
Throughout her career, Emma has shared the stage with legendary artists such as Smoky Robinson, Ellis Marsalis, Branford Marsalis, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, Yundi Li, Lang-Lang, Yefim Bronfman, Elizabeth Futral, and Harry Connick, Jr. Currently, she performs on occasion with the cello section of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, and has previously contributed her artistry to the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra and Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra.
Emma's musical repertoire spans a diverse range of styles, from classical to jazz to contemporary/pops. The recent addition of performance with electronic backing tracks offers a spectrum of moods and styles to suit any occasion and tailor the atmosphere of an event.
As an active soloist and chamber musician in and around Colorado Springs, CO, Emma continues to enrich events with the soulful resonance of her cello.
