Emma Guidry, acoustic Cello

Emma Guidry was born and raised in Laramie, Wyoming where she began her music studies at the age of five. Her primary cello teachers were Barbara Thiem and Dennis Parker. She holds a bachelor’s degree in cello performance from Louisiana State University, where she graduated as a University Medalist, summa cum laude. She is a founding member of Vermilion Strings in Acadiana, the Parnassus String Quartet in the Rocky Mountain region and the former Bayou String Quartet in southern Louisiana.
Emma has provided musical accompaniment to such artists as Smoky Robinson, Ellis Marsallis, Branford Marsallis, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, Yundi Li, Lang-Lang, Yefim Bronfman, Elizabeth Futral and Harry Connick, Jr. She has performed in the cello section of Acadiana Symphony Orchestra and Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra since 2017. She is an active soloist and chamber musician around southern Louisiana and frequently travels professionally and personally between Louisiana and Wyoming.
Emma is also a Certified Paralegal and commissioned Notary Public.
